Nightforce and Schmidt and Benderwhen it comes to high-end scope companies two names reign supreme. The majority of my hunting season last year was with the Swarovskis and a few hunts with my Schmidt.
I have several NF scopes and love them.
Nightforce vs schmidt and bender. My Schmidt and Bender 3-12x50 PMII cost me 3000 and is better than a Nightforce that is true but it cost me a lot more for a lot less return of investment. Nice scope well built Nice Schmidt. The brightest scope of all time.
NIGHTFORCE ATACR has an enviable low weight of 384 oz and a length of 1425. All 3 are excellent scopes and each scope has its place. I am thinking of adding a variable optic to an ar platform and was looking at the SB short dot or the nightforce 1-4.
Bender and last year purchased 2 Swarovski PHs. I own the ATACR it is one of the best scopes I have ever shot. Why not compare it to the schmidt 5-4556 as opposed to their older design.

10312012 An optic better than a Nightforce will inevitably cost you an extra thousand hard earned dollars. Bender Zenith lacks that common refinement. Therefore under bright and daytime conditions the illumination may be difficult to detect especially with fine reticles such as H37 H58 and H59.
